We are acutely aware of the fate of the people of Ukraine who have for days now faced an unprecedented assault by the armed forces of Russia.

We are acutely aware of the desperate plight of the defenders of free Ukraine who, in their fight to protect their own lives and the lives of their dearest ones, need most of all effective weapons required for the defence of their homeland, along with protective equipment and humanitarian aid.

We are acutely aware that, shocked by the Russian aggression against its peaceful, independent neighbour, the rest of the world is only slowly moving into motion to begin providing materiel and financial assistance that is so much needed by the defenders.

For any help to be at its most effective, it must come QUICKLY and be aimed DIRECTLY where it is most needed and address the most pressing needs.

Therefore,

(i) We express our limitless solidarity with the people of Ukraine in their efforts to maintain the integrity of Ukraine and to defend their homeland,

(ii) Bearing in mind the historical experience of the unsolicited Russian “liberation” of our country in 1968, we understand the people of Ukraine better than most and we are prepared to provide immediately the help that is most needed, and

(iii) We call on everyone concerned about the fate of Ukraine and her citizens and all freedom-loving people of Europe to donate to one of the money collections specified below as they see fit.
